Welcome to Marrakech, also known as the "Red City." Upon your arrival, you will have the pleasure of meeting your guide who will be your companion throughout this exciting 4-day adventure. Departing from the bustling city, your journey begins with a scenic drive towards the majestic High Atlas Mountains.
The drive will take you through the captivating Moroccan mountain landscapes, and you'll make a brief stop at the mountain's peak to savor a glass of refreshing mint tea. Continuing your expedition, you'll proceed to the renowned Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest Kasbah in all of Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
This historic Kasbah comprises a cluster of earthen buildings enclosed by high walls and serves as a representation of traditional pre-Saharan living. Here, you will have ample free time to explore the entire area, capturing picturesque moments with your camera. Lunch will be served against this captivating backdrop.
Afterward, your journey will take you to Ouarzazate, often referred to as the "Gateway to the Desert." The climate begins to adopt a Saharan character, setting the stage for a unique and unforgettable experience. Don't miss the opportunity to visit the famous Atlas film studio, a renowned location for the filming of many well-known movies. Your route towards the town of Dades Valley will lead you through the enchanting Roses Valley, and upon your arrival, you will spend a peaceful night in a comfortable hotel.
Today's adventure will lead you to your final destination, the Sahara Desert of Morocco. En route to the Todra Gorges, a majestic Oasis in the Darra region, you'll have the chance to marvel at the Todra River, framed by towering 300-meter-high rocks. Take some free time to stroll by the river's side, soaking in the scenic beauty.
Continuing your journey, you'll reach the desert town of Rissani, known for its abundance of fossils. Here, you'll visit a local workshop to witness the transformation of fossils into exquisite decorations.
As you approach the Morocco desert, you'll continue your route towards Erg Chebbi. You will be dropped off at a charming hotel near the dunes for your first night in the desert.
Following a restful night at your hotel, the day promises an exciting adventure of discovering the expansive Sahara Desert and the town of Merzouga. You will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of unique activities, such as exploring local markets, meeting the indigenous Berber people, and embarking on a thrilling 4x4 drive over the sand dunes with an experienced driver. Don't forget to savor the delectable Berber pizza, a local specialty.
Later in the day, your camels will be ready to transport you on a 1-hour camel ride into the heart of the dunes.
